..and your face will surely show it

I have been singing "If You're Happy and You Know It" to MaryBella lately and I started really thinking about this song (and most other kid songs-some have great meaning, some are just weird) and I have been noticing what my "face" is showing. I desire for my countenance, my demeanor, my face to be a true reflection of what is going on within. I desire that what is going on within would in the end, lead to a resolute "smile" as I know all my desires, fears, hopes, worries, and decisions rest in God's hands. I may not be completely happy about every experience in my life, but as a follower of Christ, I know I can always find joy in every circumstance. He is above all things: big or small. And also, it is deeply important to me that my little counterpart these days (MaryBella) sees a smile, a cheerful heart and open arms when she looks at me...all day...everyday. Sometimes I catch myself frowning in frustrated thoughts or scowling with disappointment and I look down and MaryBella is soaking up every facial expression, every emotion I am reflecting in my face, my countenance and my demeanor. So! I choose to find joy and happiness in everyday, in every lesson God is teaching me so I can be a happy, healthy person, so I can spread cheer and not complaints (no one likes a complainer) and so I can pass down the promises of God's favor to my sweet daughter too.
If you're happy and you know it, then you're face will surely show it. If you're happy and you know it SMILE BIG!
